3 Reasons Why the Maze Runner Movie was Amazing

3 reasons to love the Maze Runner movie So last night I saw the Maze Runner. I’ve been looking forward to this movie for a long time, and actually seeing the whole thing brought to life was incredibly fulfilling. As soon as it ended however, I was greeted by jeers and cries of outrage from those whom wanted the movie to be just like the book. Very rarely is a movie just like the book. What works well in book form, usually doesn’t work as…Continue Reading “3 Reasons Why the Maze Runner Movie was Amazing”

Alfred Hitchcock Presents… In written form? I have recently been watching Alfred Hitchcock Presents on Netflix.  All 133 episodes.  I can’t get enough of them!  The show “presents” me with mysteries, confusing circumstances, gritty material, and incredibly thought provoking themes.  It’s deep.  This isn’t your run of the mill television show.  This requires effort and talent.  The kind of talent that many producers and directors lack.  I have to say, there are only a few movies and shows that I have seen in recent years…Continue Reading “Why Alfred Hitchcock Presents is still incredibly thrilling”

Why the 5th Wave was Disappointing (A review)

Book review: My thoughts on the disappointing 5th Wave, with minor spoilers (A book by Rick Yancey) Okay.  So I read the 5th Wave about a week ago, and I’ve been trying to decide how to explain my view of it.  At first, I loved the novel.  The beginning was great!  It had attachable characters, and the “clicheness” of the four apocalypses was readable, as the writing was excellent.  I was also able to forgive the fact that there was no reason for Cassie to…Continue Reading “Why the 5th Wave was Disappointing (A review)”

Note: Mark Force on Medium

Hello, I am just letting everyone know that I also have a Medium account that I inconsistently/sometimes post short stories or articles too.  Its not a huge deal, but I do have several other writing projects that I am planning on adding to my Medium page.   I highly recommend new writers/blogers and everyone else that writes anything, to use Medium.  In my opinion, it’s a great way to keep your stories online, and link them to any other website.  It is also has a…Continue Reading “Note: Mark Force on Medium”

I can’t help but be saddened… When a trailer comes out for a new movie that is based on my favorite book.  I’ve been with the Maze Runner fandom since mid 2012.  That was before most people knew about the movie, and I only read the first one because I found it on an Amazon list.  When I read it, the review count on Amazon was low, but it had a decent amount of stars. And then I read all four books in about a…Continue Reading “Running with Fandoms (A quick rage against books made into movies and all of the fans that come with it)”

Enders Game: Ender Vs Bean

Ender’s game, but Bean should save led them (if you think about it really hard) Bean is a genius.  Period. He’s smarter than Ender, he’s streetwise, he doesn’t trust adults.  He doesn’t buy into everything that he’s told.  Bean can hold his own, and he has patience.  He also has no emotional attachments.  In all aspects of what was needed to defeat the Buggers, Bean was it, the bomb. But in order to lead a team, Bean wasn’t the first choice.  He was short.  Really…Continue Reading “Enders Game: Ender Vs Bean”

Bucket List I have a lotta things I wanna do in the next few years.  I kinda made it into a bucket list that I want to share with you all.  I don’t know how long its going to take, but I am planning on being able to travel and support myself at the same time.  I am planning on attending welding school next year so that I can broaden my field of view, and possibly get certified for cyber security after that. Anyway, here…Continue Reading “Mark’s Life and Thoughts: Bucket List”

If you were a different person (Quick note on the Rule of Thoughts) Reading the Rule of Thoughts makes me wonder, would we really accept our best friend if he was wearing a different persona?  We do in video games.  In MOBA’s, RPGs, we understand that our friends are there.  That they just look differently.  But would the same translate to real life?  It makes me wonder if Sarah and Bryson really would accept Michael outside of the virtnet.  It’s an interesting complication that I…Continue Reading “Does Appearance Matter? Sanderson’s Legion When I discovered Brandon Sanderson several months back, I went on a reading spree.  I really did.  I don’t think I put down reading until I finished all of his books.  It took me about a month, but I read all of his material (except for Warbreaker, haven’t made it to that one yet).  I even read his short stories. And then the other day I picked up Legion again.  Sanderson’s novella about a man with hallucinations, or aspects as they are called…Continue Reading “Legion: A vast host, multitude, or number of people or things”

Brandon Sanderson’s Crazy Amazing Hero: Kaladin Stormblessed

Kaladin’s Strength… (Brandon Sanderson: Stormlight Archive Spoilers) Kaladin has internal struggles.  He bonds with his men.  He lays his life on the line.  Kaladin Stormblessed.  After two very long and very enjoyable novels, we all still love him.  Brandon Sanderson completely mastered the art of world building and character building, and it shows. He puts Kaladin through so many hard times.  I think that when Stormblessed first won my heart, was when he survived the Great Storm.  Sure, he had been through hard times for…Continue Reading “Brandon Sanderson’s Crazy Amazing Hero: Kaladin Stormblessed”
